Partnering for change
Creating better futures
who we are
Partnering to build a world that promotes sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.
Niche Group Foundation (NGF) is dedicated to unlocking the potential of the cosmetology sector within Southern African townships, recognizing its significant contribution to local economies. Despite often being overlooked in broader development strategies, beauty zones thrive as vibrant hubs of economic activity. Guided by the principles of Sustainable Development Goal 8, our foundation champions the creation of sustainable jobs, promotes inclusive and equitable quality education, and fosters innovation in local communities.
Our mission is to foster empowerment through targeted education, training, and employment opportunities within the beauty industry. We firmly believe that the path to achieving these goals lies in strategic investments in women, youth, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), who are pivotal to the growth and sustainability of this vibrant sector.
Through a combination of direct initiatives and partnerships with like-minded organizations, NGF actively develops programs that not only enhance skill sets but also ensure that these skills lead to tangible employment opportunities and entrepreneurial ventures in the cosmetology field.
OurApproach
Guided by the principles of Sustainable Development Goal number 8, we focus on initiatives that promote education, training & employment.
UN Sustainable Development Goals
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.
As a foundation we take guidance for our mission from Goal 8.
UN Sustainable Development Goal 8 calls for Decent work and Economic growth for all – a call we believe can be addressed in South Africa by strategic investments in women, youth, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), who are pivotal to the growth and sustainability of this vibrant sector.
01.
— Training
Collaboration with beauty brands, educational institutions, and industry associations can provide access to resources, training materials, and certification programs.
02.
— Mentorship
Many individuals in townships have entrepreneurial aspirations. By offering mentorship programs we can help aspiring entrepreneurs and SMEs learn about business management, marketing, and financial literacy to start their own business ventures.
03.
— Job Placement
Townships often have a pool of talented individuals interested in beauty and grooming services. By providing mentorship and training, we can empower locals with skills that lead to employment opportunities.
